Portraits
The Portraits is a project in which artists and creatives are photographed toward a surrealist inspired end; influenced by such photographers as Willie Middlebrook and Don Camp to Maurice Tabard and Erwin Blumenfeld, including those of the Subjective Photography movement. I arrive at the final image by manipulating the digital coding of the picture file to produce corruptions in the image, commonly referred to as glitches. The glitches produce “imperfections” in the photographs that expand a potential for meaning and interpretation beyond the mechanical record of the sitter.
