Four Girls

Four Girls is a suite of posters created in remembrance of Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, and Cynthia Wesley. They died from the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church, an African American church, in Birmingham, Alabama by the Ku Klux Klan on September 15, 1963. In addition to the death of the four girls 22 people were injured. This incident was a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement that influenced the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The posters are published on the 50th anniversary of the event.
