Times Square Ring of Steel
The Times Square Ring of Steel project envisions surveillance in New York City, questioning ones right to privacy in public space. Cropped webcam images of pedestrians from Times Square are the source material for the posters. The images allude to the potential of surveillance from a large network of security cameras evoking issues of profiling, the potential for governmental abuses of power, as well as privacy in public space.
